work life balance
I'm sure you will all agree the ageing process can be scary at times but unfortunately it's something we can't avoid.
We can however slow the ageing process down and reduce the risk of serious adverse health conditions such as cancer, depression, heart disease and obesity, just to name a few.
Studies show that exercise and in particular lifting weights can have a huge impact on reducing the risk of these adverse health conditions.
Despite all of the information out there 80% of adults are not active enough according to prescribed guidelines.
For older adults in particular this can be very dangerous.
So to fight the effects of ageing increase your activity and in particular lift weights.
Here are some of the benefits of weight training.
Combating age related muscle loss.
Burn fat and increased lean muscle mass.
Support of functionality (movement).
Improved quality of life.
Improved bone health.
Greater cardiovascular health.
Improved mental health.
So there you have it. Be active and lift weights and if you don't know how seek advice from a Personal Trainer who is experienced with working with older adults.
